Skegness is situated in a relatively remote location on the East Lincolnshire coast, being accessible via two main routes – the A158, linking Skegness with Lincoln and Grimsby, and the A52, which links Skegness with Boston and the South.
A key characteristic of Skegness and the wider coastal area is the high number of caravans, many of which are used as a primary residence for much of the year. Whilst caravans are vital to the holiday trade, much of this population goes unrecorded.
